In July 1977, twenty-three visionary women embarked upon a new and challenging path in their lives as women of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
They decided it was time that the Madison, Wisconsin community benefits from the sisterhood, scholarship and service that our illustrious sorority has to offer. Their efforts led to the chartering of the Madison Alumnae Chapter on August 27, 1977. These women used their collective skills to cultivate and educate the minority community on political, educational, cultural, economical and social spheres. Their vision yesterday was in accordance with those of our Founders and we carry the torch today to continue working in these spheres. This year we will celebrate Forty two years of sisterhood, scholarship and service to the Madison, Wisconsin community and honor those women who made it possible.
